Knox Sewer and Backhoe Service, Inc. is a third-generation, family-owned, operated business. Knox has grown into a leading sewer installation company, providing exceptional sewer and excavation services focused on California's residential and commercial property owners for over 70 years.

Isiah Knox, Jr., known as “Ike,” worked under his father and brother until he obtained his license as a sole proprietor in 1992. Over the next 19 years, the Knox name became synonymous with quality and cost-effectiveness in the local sewer and excavation market. Mr. Knox trained his one and only son Isiah Knox, III, known as “Big,” in everything he knew about the industry when his son was 15 years old. Mr. Isiah Knox, Jr.'s succession planning included mentoring and developing his business-minded son and daughter-in-law, Mr. Isiah Knox III and Tametha Hawkins-Knox.

In September 2011, Tametha created Knox Sewer and Backhoe Service, Inc., operating as Corporate Secretary, and Isiah Knox, Jr., acting as President, and Isiah Knox, III, acting as Vice President. In the first year of operations, he has included excavation work subcontracted by his father and small sewer lateral projects for Knox Sewer and Backhoe Service, Inc. The first year was a transition as Isiah Knox III, "Big," had to prove himself to his father to operate a portion of the business successfully.  In September 2012, Knox Sewer and Backhoe Service, Inc. acquired all assets and operations. 

Knox Sewers and Backhoe Service, Inc. keeps the family name and values of honesty, integrity, community, and “showing up and doing your best every day.” With the belief that the company is “Built on Excellence,” Isiah Knox III’s business expertise has improved new client engagement, increased productivity, and encouraged growth.
